Complaints about rats in New York have increased last year by almost 10% and the health authorities are not doing enough to fight against these unwanted rodents, denounced a city official.

"Every day, rats are an insult to New Yorkers, that makes you want to vomit," insisted the financial controller of the city Scott Stringer, after making public this weekend an audit of how this problem was managed by the municipal services of the health and hygiene (DOHMH).
